Communications Specialist


Disclaimer: Since we operate in the hardware development field, we're looking for a tech-savvy person, someone with a tech background. 

We're Tropic Square, a young modern tech company that deals with embedded security and secure chip design. Currently, we're looking for a Communications Specialist who'll be in charge of our marketing communication focusing on areas like PR, social media management, copywriting, etc. The ultimate goal is to help establish Tropic Square as a new, disrupting brand in the multibillion-dollar chip industry.

Here, you’ll have a great opportunity to combine your interests in security, open source, and marketing to generate exciting content for all the audiences we want to reach. We’re definitely open to experimenting, so any new ideas for our marketing communication will be more than welcome. 

If everything goes well, our target audience may even see you as the face of our company – pretty exciting, huh?    


What will your duties be?   

  • You’ll of course do some writing - be it blog posts, short articles or even some basic UX writing as a new company website is in the works.
  • You’ll cooperate with an external PR agency on creating and evaluating the content our company needs.
  • You’ll actively participate in the day-to-day management of our social media accounts, mainly Twitter and Linkedin. If you wish to reach audiences via other social media, too, we can definitely discuss that.
  • Our vision is to build a strong community around our product (the chip) - together, we'll reach out to Linux, Python, and open-source communities and engage with them on the aforementioned platforms.
  • You’ll closely cooperate with our technical writer and prepare materials for technical articles.


What do we need from you?   

  • Loads of enthusiasm about security and open source. Also, you know where to find like-minded people.
  • Previous experience (at least a year) with marketing communications; other than that we're open to many backgrounds.
  • Twitter and LinkedIn management expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional approach towards people around you.
  • Advanced level of English; knowledge of an additional world language is a plus.
  • You're able to come to our office in Prague from time to time to brainstorm, work, eat, and drink with us.
