Public TREZOR Demo in Berlin and status update

Posted by SatoshiLabs in News on March 13, 2014 with No Comments

The first public demonstration of a functional TREZOR hardware wallet will be held on Saturday 15th March in Berlin, Germany.

The Bitcoin Exchange Berlin (BXB) is a free-entry event organized every month by Aaron Koenig in Berlin.

The goal of BXB is to introduce Bitcoin to newcomers and allow them to meet experienced users, have their questions answered and buy their first Bitcoins. At the same time, dealers of bitcoins walk around in their typical “Bowler Hats”.

This live exchange usually features a special guest presentation. After having introduced several well-known bitcoin enterpreneurs, e.g. Jeremias Kangas ( or Tamas Blummer (Bits of Proof), TREZOR was honoured with an invitation for the March BXB.

Our team represented by Alena and Marek will show the usage of TREZOR with myTREZOR Web Wallet. We will show the initial setup of the device, as well as the basic operations like receiving and sending bitcoins, managing TREZOR accounts or recovering the wallet using the recovery seed. We will focus on the practical side of securing bitcoins with our device, give recommendations and best practice advise to avoid mistakes.

After the presentation, we will be available to informally discuss and answer all questions of the visitors. So, if by any chance you’re around Berlin this weekend, join us in Betahaus at Prinzessinnenstra├če 19-20.

Status update

Additionally to our previous update on our Facebook pages, the software is in a pre-release stage with all core functions implemented.

Parallel to final bug fixing we have simplified some workflows and we are preparing user guides and context help for the users. The browser plugin for Windows, Mac, Linux platforms is undergoing further tuning (USB stack is quite a challenge as said before) and we’re working closely with Bits of Proof on minor bug fixing of the BoP backend.

We are still trying to solve our case production of Classics, unfortunately this is something we can’t really influence to go faster. We are negotiating with alternative manufacturer and we’ll keep you posted once there are news.
